5 Useful Advantage of Human Resource Management (HRM)

What Is HRM?

HRM is the organizational function that deals with issues related to people such as compensation, talent acquisition, talent assistance, talent development, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training. So, the focus of HRM is to deal with the manpower and all the decisions related to it that can have an impact on the productivity.

Advantages of HRM

An organization cannot build a good team of working professionals without it. Let’s have a look, how HRM is contributing in the current scenario:-

1. Helps Evaluate HR Policies : – HR policies help keep employees on the same page and streamline the day-to-day operation of the business. Without these policies, employees might get confused about the company’s culture and expectations, resulting in a chaotic work environment.
2. Helps in building culture and values in the organization : – A safe and clean work culture helps in bringing the best of an employee and creates a higher job satisfaction.
3. Helps in Recruitment & Training : -This is one of the major responsibilities of the HR team. The HR team comes up with plans and strategies for hiring the right kind of people. They design the criteria which is suited for a specific job description. When needed, they also provide training to the employees according to the requirements of the organization.
4. Performance Appraisals : – HRM encourages the people working in an organization, to work according to their potential and gives them suggestions that can help them to bring about improvement in it.
5. Developing Public Relations : – The responsibility of establishing good public relations lies with the HRM. They organize business meetings, seminars and various official gatherings on behalf of the company in order to build up relationships with other business sectors.
Disadvantages of HRMThis makes your HR functions quick, but it doesn’t always make them better. In fact, your company can run into serious problems if you forget that employees are more than numbers and symbols on a screen.

1. Employee Privacy : – Your employees entrust you with personal information. Everything from Social Security numbers to private health information and marital status gets stored in your HR management system

2. Cost : – One of the disadvantages of these systems is their cost, for different users it will cost different. Installation, setup and consulting can cost more.

3. Difficulty of Analysis : -Your system can contain so much data that you may find it difficult to analyze. You may need a separate analysis system just to sort the data into meaningful chunks.

HR Software – Interfaces vs. Integration

Expect to hear the terms interface and integration often during your search for a HR Software Solution. Both refer to the communication of two systems, but there are differences and it’s important that we understand them. An interface usually requires work on your part and data swap does not happen in real time. Integration, however, is automatic and requires no work on your end. Either provides the ability to eliminate time consuming, error-prone double entries, but because integration usually means less work you should select systems that integrate whenever possible.

A hot topic that is catching up is how to provide a solution integration requirement which is hybrid in nature, meaning hardly any of the applications reside in an on premise server and the rest on cloud. To be specific, organizations want to keep their core systems on premise and agree to next generation cloud solutions to manage HR and other non core functions.

Let us now understand the distinction between Interfaces and Integration.

HR Software Interfaces Solution

Almost all business software applications in the market today are able to create and accept some type of import or export of data files. This allows you to transfer data to and from numerous independent solutions.

One solution which has a ready provision for any interface requirement is WTM HRM Software. Interface utility is a feature which can allow you to build, upload or download interfaces between any system such as time clock, third-party systems or even bank transfers.

Taking an example, let’s say your company uses one product for payroll and another for all other Human Resource (HR) functions. Obviously you would not want to enter changes to employee data separately into the two systems; it doubles the effort required and increases the chances of an error tremendously. An interface would provide the opportunity to take data from your Payroll product and download it to your HR system following each payroll run. Now here’s the catch: A file must be created or run from the payroll product, then downloaded to the HR Software solution either through a custom interface or by using a import utility (same as referred to WTM interface utility).  This might not take more than five minutes, but it’s still an extra step you would have to execute every time to keep your HR software solution up to date. Another important issue here is that your HR data is only as current as your last download. So if you do not frequently interface the data, you might find that the data in your HR software solution is often stale.

Interfaces require extra work and will not be real time, but they are an important means of tying two systems together, eliminating repetitive double entry, and reducing manual entry errors. You would probably be working with interfaces far more often than with truly integrated software applications. While an interface may not be the perfect solution, it does sometimes offer the easiest method of eliminating time consuming double entry.

HR Software Solution Integration

Integration is always the best-case scenario, but it’s rarely offered. An integrated HR software solution requires no work and changes happen in real time; as the two systems share the same database. So you only have to add or update data once.

If the two systems from our earlier example were integrated, a change made to payroll would show up automatically in your HR product (and vise versa). If you are looking for an integrated HRMS you will probably have to get all of your HR software products from the same company.

Take a look at WTM products list as we provide integrated HRM solution. WTM HRM is a comprehensive solution which is functionality rich and is a preferred cloud solution. With an integrated solution such as WTM HRM there will be minimalistic need for any integration or interface with third-party solutions.

Scale up Sales Support with ERP Software

Utilizing ERP software will give sales and marketing teams in the built-up industry tools they need to deliver the best quality client care.

Customers involved in a study conducted by the LMA Consulting Group exposed that excellent sales support is one of the top three qualities they look for in a business. LMA added that customers are also looking for more in-depth sales support than in recent years. With online shopping and tracking information available around the clock today, anything less than 24/7 sales support is unsatisfactory to several clients.

Unfortunately, according to a recent assessment completed by Corporate Visions, salespeople in various industries feel significantly unprepared for important conversations they have with clients about products, pricing and purchasing. Ironically, the aspects of their jobs they feel most prepared to tackle are the ones they think contribute the least value to the overall business. Aside from thorough training, Corporate Visions reported that companies need to provide their sales and marketing teams with resources that aid them in the client relationship and communication realms.

Luckily, ERP software gives manufacturing companies and their staff the edge they need to keep up with client demands and sales support. Improved delivery times, more accurate inventory control and dedicated customer service are just a few of the results manufacturers see after implementing ERP software.
